The 30 Cent Players are....

Ryan Christensen

Ryan Christensen has lived in Victoria for six years. On his arrival he quickly joined an improv comedy group, that was in great need of a superstar. After many years of stardom on the improv stage, Ryan decided that it was time to branch out into the world of sketch comedy. He searched high and low for the best group out there, finding this in The 30 Cent Players, Ryan bribed and begged his way into the group. Ryan also currently sits on The 30 Cent Players Comedy Society Board of Directors.

Crystal Yerex

Crystal Yerex was born in Victoria in 1976, and has ventured to other parts of the country enough times to realize that the West Coast is where it’s at. After spending her early working life as a Pizza Chef, Veterinary Nurse, Go-Go Dancer and other odd professions , she realized she lacked direction, and decided to act on the advice that she had heard for years; take up accounting. Finding a very unappreciative audience for her brand of wit however, she decided to be funny for a living instead. Crystal made her stand-up comic debut one evening in a country & western bar in Banff, Alberta. The stage was surrounded by chicken wire, and was also home to a large mechanical bull. On a whim, during a troubling moment of silence from the audience, Crystal inserted a quarter and rode that bull, and the rest is comedy history. Crystal currently sits on The 30 Cent Players Comedy Society Board of Directors.

Alan Ford

Alan Ford was born and raised in Victoria, BC. From an early age, he knew he wanted to be an actor, and more importantly, make people laugh. Alan got involved in the local improv scene with Act Improv in 1995 and has since performed stand-up comedy and starred in several local and international television commercials. Alan is one of the original members of The 30 Cent Players, both writing and performing since the troupe’s inception. He also acts as the troupe's Media Liaison and currently sits on The 30 Cent Players Comedy Society Board of Directors.

Greg Pratt

Greg Pratt is not the latest figment of our imagination. His upcoming bio will confirm that. Until then, we can attempt to tell you a little bit about him. He's pretty much perfect and has brought his zany antics to the troupe since March 2006. Having dabbled in improv and now sketch, he plans to add standup comedy to his ever-expanding resume.

Paul McKinnon

Paul McKinnon was just a baby when he was born! Paul McKinnon has written and performed a series of "Stand-Up Travelogues" that include "Wake Up And Smell the Bus Depot" and "Roll Over Jack London and Tell Robert Service The News". Paul has busked Robert Service's "The Cremation of Sam McGee" as a two-man street performance, and done stand-up comedy in Quesnel, Prince George, and Nanaimo. Paul is also the two-time winner of "The James Bay Inn Charles Bukowski T-Shirt-Emily Carr Jug-of-Beer Poetry Slam Three Star Award" . He lives in Victoria- if you call that living.
